Bondi Announces Probe into President's Opponents and Jeffrey Epstein Connections
On Friday, Pam Bondi appointed interim US attorney Jay Clayton to head an probe into opponents of Donald Trump and their connections with the late financier. This decision came shortly after the president ordered her to begin the probe.
In a statement, Bondi highlighted Jay Clayton as “one of the most capable and trusted prosecutors in the country”. She stated, “This case will be addressed with speed and honesty to ensure public transparency.”
This development seems to diverge from a recent memorandum from federal authorities which indicated that the Epstein files did not warrant additional investigations. According to the document, authorities “did not uncover evidence that could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties”
