Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hard courts

A revitalized Medvedev claimed his initial championship for over two years with success over opponent Moutet in the competition final.

The Russian, a ex- number one, has experienced a difficult season, managing just one match at the big events and experiencing a setback at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's varied form on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serving in especial - led to him exiting of the world's top 10 and finally parting ways with long-term mentor Gilles Cervara.

Presently training with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the recent weeks - culminating in a hard-fought competitive win over opponent Moutet.

This marks his initial title following the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt from that period of the previous year.

The win also indicates the Russian has secured twenty-one championships at 21 various tournaments.

"This marks the first occasion I am participating in a tournament with my two daughters together, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," commented ranked player Medvedev.

"This victory is in tribute of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I got when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had been defeated in his previous six finals, featuring in that event in the past months.

His counter-punching play style and frequent emotional displays on the playing surface had prompted observers to doubt if his capacity to play at the top level was finished.

But the player has made changes in the last few weeks, making an effort to approach the net and compete assertively, backed up by an enhanced service.

He fought back from a deficit in the first set against the challenging Moutet, taking four of the final five points to go ahead.

The pair swapped break points in the second set before Moutet, bidding for his first professional title, gained dominance to create a third set.

He rescued 4 initial chances in a competitive final set before Medvedev won the break to 15 to close out the victory.

Appropriately, Medvedev secured the win with a point at the net, with the Frenchman failing to manage a volley after over two and a half hours.
