Two Men Charged with Inmate Homicide of Former Lostprophets Frontman Ian Watkins
Two individuals now face murder charges following the death in prison of one-time Lostprophets vocalist and convicted child sex offender Ian Watkins.
Rashid Gedel, 25, and Samuel Dodsworth, 43 stand indicted for homicide and are set to face Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, per investigating officers.
Watkins, 48, was in the midst of a 29-year prison term at HMP Wakefield, with a further six years to be served on licence, after pleading guilty to multiple sexual crimes among them the tried rape of a very young child.
Watkins was taken into custody following a substance-related warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a significant quantity of computers, mobile phones and data storage units were taken as evidence.
